On March 6, 2023, the Michigan Supreme Court DENIED the request of Defendants St. Nicholas and Ven. Parascheva Romanian Orthodox Church, Troy, Michigan, to consider their appeal of the September 15, 2022, decision of the Michigan Court of Appeals in favor of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America. Therefore, the Defendants have exhausted their legal remedies in Michigan to retain control over St. Nicholas.

The Episcopate expects the Defendants to immediately relinquish control over the church property so that the parish of St. Nicholas can return to proper canonical order within the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America.
