From May 1–3, 2026, the Clergy Wives Retreat of the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America took place at Vatra Românească, the headquarters of our Episcopate, bringing together clergy wives from parishes across the United States and Canada.
The retreat offered a blessed time of prayer, fellowship, reflection, and spiritual renewal. Participants had the opportunity to visit the museum and the Vatra grounds, share in common meals and conversations, and take part in morning and evening prayers.
On Saturday, the program included the 𝐀𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐭 𝐎𝐥𝐠𝐚 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐚, who was also a clergy wife, a welcome and question-and-answer session with the hierarchs, and a presentation by His Eminence Archbishop Nathaniel entitled “𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝐺𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑁𝑜 𝑀𝑜𝑟𝑒,” reflecting on the importance of outreach in the life of the Church. The retreat also included a presentation by Dr. Dan Hinshaw on “𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐸𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝐿𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑎𝑠 𝑂𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑑𝑜𝑥 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑠.”
Later in the day, the clergy wives visited the cemetery at Vatra Românească, where a memorial service was offered for those who have departed this life in the hope of the Resurrection.
The retreat concluded on Sunday, the Sunday of the Paralytic, with the celebration of the Holy and Divine Liturgy at the Dormition of the Mother of God Orthodox Monastery in Rives Junction, Michigan, followed by a meal offered in fellowship. During their visit, the clergy wives also had the blessing of praying at the grave of 𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐫 𝐑𝐨𝐦𝐚𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐠𝐚 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐋𝐚𝐤𝐞𝐬, whose canonization was proposed by the Romanian Orthodox Episcopate of America last year.
We give thanks to Almighty God for this blessed gathering and for the ministry, sacrifice, and quiet strength of the clergy wives who serve faithfully beside their husbands in the life of our parishes and communities.

În perioada 1–3 mai 2026, la Vatra Românească, Centrul Eparhial al Episcopiei Ortodoxe Române din America, a avut loc Întâlnirea Preoteselor, reunind preotese din parohiile Episcopiei noastre din Statele Unite și Canada.
Această întâlnire a fost un binecuvântat prilej de rugăciune, comuniune, reflecție și întărire duhovnicească. Participantele au avut ocazia să viziteze muzeul și împrejurimile Vetrei, să ia parte la rugăciunile de dimineață și de seară, precum și la momente de dialog și comuniune.
Sâmbătă, programul a inclus citirea 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐥𝐮𝐢 𝐒𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐢 𝐎𝐥𝐠𝐚 𝐝𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐤𝐚, care a fost de asemenea soție de preot, un cuvânt de bun venit și o sesiune de întrebări și răspunsuri cu ierarhii, precum și prezentarea Înaltpreasfințitului Părinte Arhiepiscop Nathaniel, intitulată „𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑦 𝐺𝑎𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑟 𝑇ℎ𝑒𝑟𝑒 𝑁𝑜 𝑀𝑜𝑟𝑒,” despre importanța misiunii și a apropierii de cei aflați departe de viața Bisericii. De asemenea, Dr. Dan Hinshaw a susținut prezentarea „𝐻𝑒𝑎𝑙𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝑎𝑡 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝐸𝑛𝑑 𝑜𝑓 𝐿𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑎𝑠 𝑂𝑟𝑡ℎ𝑜𝑑𝑜𝑥 𝐶ℎ𝑟𝑖𝑠𝑡𝑖𝑎𝑛𝑠.”
În cursul după-amiezii, preotesele au vizitat cimitirul de la Vatra Românească, unde a fost săvârșită o slujbă de pomenire pentru cei adormiți întru nădejdea Învierii.
Întâlnirea s-a încheiat duminică, în Duminica Slăbănogului, prin participarea la Sfânta și Dumnezeiasca Liturghie la Mănăstirea Ortodoxă „Adormirea Maicii Domnului” din Rives Junction, Michigan. În timpul vizitei, preotesele au avut, de asemenea, binecuvântarea de a se ruga la mormântul Părintelui Mărturisitor Roman Braga al Marilor Lacuri, a cărui canonizare a fost propusă anul trecut de Episcopia Ortodoxă Română din America.
Dăm slavă lui Dumnezeu pentru această binecuvântată întâlnire și pentru slujirea, jertfa și tăria discretă a preoteselor care sprijină cu credincioșie viața parohiilor și comunităților noastre.
Hristos a înviat! Adevărat a înviat!
